Should we re-consider the scientifically obvious ?
I understand where both sides are coming from but IQ tests are bias. Someone can have street smarts or mountain wisdom or naturally inclined. This means that you can survive on the streets or in the mountains or just be good at for no understandable reason. Written IQ tests means you have to be able to read the test, understand the test, and then match the principal needed. If a person is of another understanding at any of these tasks then the test is void. Maybe, the example of Forrest Grump was good because it showed that nobility in thought a better measure than the common idea of smart.
