IRC chat help, moderation etc?

If you only want the IRC chat to be available when a moderator is around, then IRC is not the best option. I'd go for a chatbox, but this totally depends on your end. Wanting to have the chatbox on the website, or on a specific forum? If so, what forum? There are also many CMS (Content Management Systems) out there which has chatbox plugins.
